Whereas As the Roots Undo is a masterpiece in the sense that it is just saturated in raw emotion, The Moon is a Dead World takes pride in the fact that it is literally perfect in every conception of the word. The intricate and progressive intrumentation is unsurpassed in this genre, and the album's tenacity and cohesiveness make this an incredible musical experience.

The most energetic, impassioned and apocalyptic sounding album I've heard in a long time, based on the way in which the members of Gospel throw themselves into their music you'd think they had only minutes left to live.

The jaw dropping pyrotechnics of prog combined with the emotional punch of screamo make for an incredibly powerful record. Major props to Kurt Ballou's production, he manages to make the album sound suffocatingly dense yet finely nuanced. Instant classic.

A journey of it's own and quite possibly one of the finest examples of screamo you could ever show someone. Thanks to the unique combinations of genres, there hasn't been an album like it since.

When I first heard this I thought it was one of the most obnoxious, ugly pieces of music I'd
ever heard. I tried to respect it for what it was but even that was a challenge. Flash
forward two years or so and I think it's one of the easiest listens in my library. For one
thing, the musicianship, and especially the drumming, is phenomenal. All of the
songs progress in very interesting ways. It sounds a bit jumbled at first, but over time
this album flows beautifully.
Bottom line, easily one of the best records I've ever heard from a trying-really-hard-to-be-
objective standpoint.

This is really that good, it's the most diverse screamo album i've ever heard maybe other than CTTS, utilizing 70's prog synth, 60's psychedelia, 12 string guitars, and epic post-rock build ups. 'A Golden Dawn' is one of my favorite songs of all time, it's so damn epic and the moving lyrics tell a story about living after the apocalypse(At least thats what they sound like to me). I've been listening to this album over 5 years and I still come back to listen to it, it's a timeless album.

I can thank Sputnik for allowing me to discover this album. First things first - The Moon Is a Dead World (as a whole) has the most monstrous drumming I have ever heard in my entire life (and I'm a drummer (who's into lots of crazy drummer's albums)). Every song on here is at least 4/5. This album is so unique and alone in it's feel and atmosphere. Proggy as hell but still has that raw hardcore vibe. Each song is a unique, fuzzy, dynamic, hyper-creative work of art. There are no negatives I can think of when describing this album, other than perhaps being quite inaccessible at first, largely due to the distant vocals and hazy, ethereal sounding guitars, but that will soon grow on you more than you will expect.
