A stunning/startling display of musicianship and the ability to grow within ones own music are probably the easiest ways to describe the latest offering from the once third-wave ska outfit Rx Bandits. Over the years the band has come to flirt with various musical styles to shape something truly their own. With ...and the Battle Begun it was almost at its height of interplay; then along came Mandala. This disc is absoultely superb, and if it doesn't hit ya right away, just give it a little time and she'll throw you a lot back. This band continues to completely blow my mind, how they are not one of the more recognized bands in the world right now makes me want to cry. This album continues their journey forward into becoming one of the most evolved from where they started bands I have ever come across. Anyone who still refers to this band as ska should be struck down, I hope that everyone listens to this album and that this band does become huge, normally I would not like to see that happen but for some reason with them I just think they deserve it. Rolling Stone should be putting this band on the cover so I could respect that rag for one month - this my friends is great music - can't wait to get my vinyl and cd package. I felt this album was great,but a few of the songs felt weak compared to the others. Also it was too The Mars Volta in some parts which is only good when TMV does it. The tracks that aren't weak is some amazing music. The weak songs are still great,but just not compared to others. Definitely worth checking out. Bump

Rx Bandits lost it's horns before the recording of this album. But if you think it over, those horns weren't that present on their last effort. But Rx makes up for this loss. God, this is well played, well written ska meets psychedelic music. These guys take their music to a whole new level with Mandala. Totally Album of The Year material Bump

Sublime. Musical Ecstasy. A bunch of ska kids taking their abundant talent to another level. All these things can be said about RX Bandits newest album. The only reason I can't give it a classic rating is because I still think they can pull off EVEN better. But for now, this is the music intended to be listened to by humans. So extremely recommended to lovers of any music. Bump

A truly brutal combination here: mean guitar work, progressive undertones, catchy melodies and when needed, RAW POWER. Without a doubt, it seems like the sound of The Sound of Animals Fighting (heh) is slowly merging with RX Bandits to create a far more balanced yet inventive sound. I seriously think this is a contender for album of the year. Bump

Sick jams from a great band. The logical progression form 2006's ...And the Battle Begun. RX sticks with what they do best and bring some rocking music that will surely bring you back for more. Even with the loss of their horn section, the music stays interesting and fresh, definitely worth a listen, this is good music. Bump
