One of the best pop punk albums that doesn't seem to age. Its the perfect album to give to someone who wants to get into pop punk(hell, it got me into pop-punk in middle school  )

Yellowcard showcase their talent as a pop punk band with this defining album of their career. Fun pop punk anthems with great vocals and lyrics from Ryan Key mixed with upbeat guitars, drums, and beautiful violin parts. Together they crafted together a memorable album to those that grew up listening to it and to those that still listen to it today as a staple of pop punk at the time and even today.

Ocean Avenue is, without a doubt, Yellowcard's most iconic and definitive album. Huge anthems like "Way Away", "Only One", and the title track are absolute hits, and featured urgent instrumentation that was fairly technical compared to their peers. A lot of the band's best songs are on this album. There are a few songs in the second half that either don't live up to the high standard or feel like filler, but this will be a pop punk staple for years to come.

Yeah, yeah, I know it's Sowing's thing, but seriously, this is a fantastic break-up album. I was listening to Yellowcard (and this album) for probably just as long as my relationship with this girl, and I put this album on (coincidentally) on the drive over to her house one night, where she promptly broke up with me. It was tough, but as soon as "Believe" came on, well, I knew that everything was going to be alright. I recently saw them at the Warped Tour in Denver, and "Ocean Avenue" and "Only One" finally clicked for me, unleashing my true feelings. This album, sure the songs may all sound kind of the same, sure, they may be all about breaking up, but there's so much emotion poured into each song, I can't help but love it. Yeah, I still miss that girl, her name was Heather, but I know that only time and Yellowcard will heal the wounds that cut so deep when we finally came to an end.
