This album is awful. Its his worst album he ever made, and doesn't deserve to be in Manson's discography and it definitely is NOT what Manson COULD sound like in today's times. I don't know how anyone can listen to "Blank and White," "Armagoddamnmotherfuckingeddon" or "Four Rusted Horses" and not think, This is lame. Manson has the ability to sound so much better though.

album grows on you, although it takes the patience of a zen master to make it through running to the edge of the world and i want to kill you like they do in the movies without hitting the next song button.

A lot better than people give it credit for, its simply Manson evolving with the times and its produced a pretty good album, not a scratch on Holy Wood or earlier. but good for its purposes

Whereas Eat Me, Drink Me retained a small dose of Manson's older sound The High End Of Low is perhaps even more personal and less relate-able. "Devour" and "Arma-Goddamn-Motherfuckin-Geddon" contain a hint of the man many loved from old, the rest of the album meanders from strange to quizzically heartfelt.

This album is kind of like a strong branch off from "Eat Me, Drink Me". It features the same droll, boring; yet brutal sound. However; "The High End of Low" is amazingly better than "Eat Me, Drink Me".
This album has more passionate tones, while keeping the disturbing lyrics. It's something you can actually move to, rather than mope around to. Do not think this album contains anything like his old headbang/dance tracks. It's still his new sound, but with more of an upbeat twist.
Personally, I'm a loyal Marilyn Manson fan, but I'm not going to rush out to buy this album May 26th. This is more of a downloader, but certainly something a true fan of his would enjoy.

Everyone expects another antichrist or holywood from him. He's moved on n so should you. He does comment on politics n love but with a subtle sarcasm in this one. You'll get what you didnt expect. A lot of tracks are acoustic. No headbanging babble-babble bitch-bitch songs here. Lyrics are coming straight from the heart rather than from tshirt slogans.

Running to the edge of the world, Into the fire, Unkillable monster : amazing acoustic hard rock numbers, reminds me of late 80s guns n roses era
None of the tracks are bad but yeah the 9 minute "epic" track I want to kill you like they do in the movies doesnt do any justice to mansons vocals. moreover, the vocals after a time seem boring, irritating and screechy making you switch off the stereo.
Overall, if you like an artist move on and make new stuff with new thoughts try this one out. Its not "just" for alternative metal goth-posers n freaks
