Someone told me that they recorded "Everything is Fire" at the bottom of the ocean to get it to sound this heavy.

Endlessly rewarding album that gets better with every listen. Everything about it is phenomenal, whether it be the production, lyrics, artwork, or the songwriting. One of the very few bands that renews my interest in death metal.

Being not much of a metal fan, the genre of death metal isn't exactly my forte. I can accually only recall Cryptosy's None So Vile and In Morning's Shrouded Divine being death metal records that I have enjoyed and the latter isn't even very "death metal." But after all the critical acclaim Ulcerate's new release has gotten and with a name like Everything Is Fire I couldn't help but check it out. And I was extremely impressed. It is produced fanastically, created a dense and powerful atmoshere, acually I fell asleep listening through it for the first time, but it doesn't take away the fact that this face raps. The guitars are impressive, not just showing flare but depth, the bass is not only audible but exceptional, and the drumming is fucking mindblowing to say the least. Like the double kick is just, holy fuck fast. And not being a fan of the death metal vocals, enjoyed the way the vocals were mixed, being placed more "in the mix" rather than being placed in the forefront. Though, not exactly one of my favorite albums of the year it is definatly in my top 50, and is my undisputed death metal record of the year, maybe even my metal record of the year. And this coming from a known metal head.

Good album though it is pretty similar to Hate Eternal...bit more complex in stylistically, melodies are a bit more atmospheric and engaging.
