I Just recently started listening to these guys and i must admit that they are a very solid band! the drummers is phenomenal and has great fill-ins, Love the sound of the kick too. The guitar although not technical, is very heavy and way brutal. The Vocals own face!!!! this guy has an amazing range of lows and highs very very good, lots of raw power to him, you can tell that he was not auto-tuned on this recording which says a lot about his talent! the break downs are awesome very very very heavy, this is the type of music you punch people out to!! They are way super influenced by The Acacia Strain which happens to my personal favorite so this is right up my ally!!! as for technicality and good harmonies you will have to look to Parkway Drive, or All Shall Perish or one of those type of bands if thats the sound you like. But all in all i would have to say i am very impressed with this album and this band especially for being a four piece group!

This album surprised the hell out of me, with its unique vocals and impressive drumming. Add in some groovy breakdowns and some interesting guitarwork (the melodic solo at the end of Samael the Destroyer, for instance) sealed the deal. Good deathcore :0

There are some good things on this record but nothing new. Whatever happened to the point of a breakdown, i mean now days there used to actually structure a song, most songs are even built on them!
Depths is a solid record but rather boring and after a few listens I realized the vocals aren't that impressive either.

This band is already putting their own spin on Whitechapel's new sound, while retaining their signature style heard on their demo. Really groovy, dark melodies, heavy as hell, you can't go wrong with this, unless of course you're a death metal elitist like the majority of the people who comment deathcore band reviews.

Pros: Amazing vocal performance (so much anger, power and depth at the same time), solid guitar work (special mentions go to the final segment of "Samael The Destroyer" and the instrumental track "Depths"), drums are, for the most part, very good.rCons: Way too overproduced (like virtually every single album our friend Joey Sturgis has produced up to date), songs do get repetitive after a couple listens (hey, it's Deathcore at its purest. Don't set your expectation too highly), nearly non-existent bass.

I cant stand listening to Contagion, but Depths manages to keep me interested time and time again. The dark sense of atmosphere is chilling and adam's deep booming vocals go along perfectly with it.

Honestly there is nothing commendable on this album. Recycled breakdown after breakdown after breakdown. Sure it sounds brutal, but a band can only get so far on sheer brutality. There are instances such as "District of Misery" that help the album. Everything especially the drums are good on that song. The vocals aren't comprehensible most of the time, so I had no idea what the songs were about until I looked it up. Very average stuff to say the least from a band that can potentially and hopefully will do more.

Band gets so much shit but this is so much better than Contagion. The instrumental title track is awesome too. Good production really helps these guys out. Oh yeah, it's only a debut too.

Out of all the deathcore bands, I think there's never been quite the love/hate ratio then there has been with this album. On one side the vocalist manages to sound his own within the deathcore genre (a hard task indeed), the guitarists are fairly talented, and occasionally the band has atmosphere to offer. On the OTHER side the drummer is obviously (and quite horrendously) programmed, there are simply waaaaaay too many breakdowns (most of which are horribly placed), and on top of that most songs sound exactly the same. However there are 3 awesome songs on here ("A Mandatory Sacrifice", "District of Misery", and "Depths) which are the only reason to even go through this collection of your average collection of growls, breakdowns, and chugs.

I have to be honest, musically, the album is a 3. Oceano actually uses some pretty decent techniques, not great but they show potential. All this said, there is a limit to how intense a growl can be... they take the art out of screaming...

I actually really like these guys, the vocalists who i think is the big black dude can really shread, his range is great from low lows, to high highs, with squeels and bree's every which way. The music can be better, as far as the triggered drum set, whatever, he has some good head fills and some blast beats.
