Twist the Truth does well to fill its mellow rock mold, and Marlin truly has a spectacular voice, but as a collection of songs the album’s slow pace definitely detracts from its appeal. Tracks like the moving ‘Here We Are’ and ‘Have I Ever Told You’ stand out from among the somewhat unmemorable other takes, and it’s purely on the strength of the few that the album manages to remain enjoyable. A little more excitement and vigour in her music would definitely be a positive step for Marlin as a songwriter.
I have to admit that I'm a big fan of hers, there is just something about her music and that semi-depressing style rmixed with the pop elements that I really enjoy. Also, she has a great voice that fits her music perfectly.
