3.3 great | Erwann S. STAFF | October 7th 20 | Melodic, passionate, cheesy and *epic*: welcome to alt-prog 2020. As often, the vocals are not my cuppa, but they sure know how to craft hooks. Most importantly, this is a competent album, full of strong riffs and good production; but it doesn't accomplish anything prog hasn't already done. It's a harsh criticism, as I can slap a 4 on black metal records that don't do anything new. Solipsism is a bitch.

3.5 great | Gene Gol-Jonsson CONTRIBUTOR | June 30th 20 | I like a lot of the melodies, I like the profound lyrics, I like the crisp production and I definitely like the instrumental arrangement. There is some magic here I cannot put my finger on. But I also dislike the vocals, I dislike the often saccharine songwriting. But mostly this is a worthy effort. And heck, maybe it's just me who couldn't delight in the vocals and you'll fare better.

3.5 great | Blud Vidal | May 11th 20 | This album is a showcase in fluidity, melody, and poise. Production highlights the electronic influences, heightens the record's characteristic twin vocal harmonics, and makes accessible the distinct prog rock climaxes dotting Eupnea's soundscapes. Each track is its own being yet the sound is extremely cohesive and represents Eupnea both 10 years removed from their last record and yet terrifically cognizant of where they left off sonically. I probably would have liked a bit more heaviness to balance out the light beauty, but Eupnea is still a wonderful listen.

4.0 excellent | Deadwing2112 | April 10th 20 | A decade separates Eupnea from the last studio release by Pure Reason Revolution and it is an impeccable return. The harmonies provided by Jon Courtney and Chloe Alper are impressively ear catching. The instrumentation captures an immediate accessibility without sacrificing progressive elements in either rock or metal capacities. The melodic undertones of Eupnea emulate a faint underlying of the 90s shoegaze without any prolonged droning. This is a thoroughly enjoyable listening experience and hopefully another long sabbatical does not interrupt the band's next studio recording.
