A really, really good album, A Snow Capped Romance does what many metalcore albums fail to do: display variety and original moments of heaviness that do not rely on out dated and overused techniques in the genre. Unfortunately after this they started to abuse the very crafts that they steered clear from on this album and that has made for a lackluster career. But for one album, 36 Crazyfists were the shit. It doesn't get much better than "Cure Eclipse", the bands best song to date. Here's to hoping that their new album will be a grand return to form.

More of the same frozen nu-metal stylings really. They play it safe and clean up the production a little this time before becoming a forgettable metalcore mistake for the rest of their career to date. The extra polish here is more of a detriment than an improvement and the fact that this album features their best song "At the End of August" is not enough to make "A Snow Capped Romance" a great album.

A classic metalcore release comparable to KSE's "Alive or Just Breathing". Standouts include "Bloodwork", "Kenai", and "At The End of August".

Don't get me wrong.. this isn't quite equal to 'Rest Inside The Flames'... but it also isn't bad enough to be a 3.5 either,
there are some wimpy tunes here that kind of bring down the overall enjoyability (Skin and Atmosphere for example), and Waterhaul can definitely get boring because it's so slow and lumbering.
But overall this is a good album.
