3.5 great | Antonius | November 28th 20 | The mere fact that these juggernauts still release albums, is an astounding fact on its own. It gets even more impressive when their 21st(!) studio album is a solid, groovy, and profound release. It is simple, it flows naturally, it has catchy songs, and in general, is a pleasant listening. Gillan's vocals remain at a respectable level despite his 75 years of age, Paice's drumming is energetic and fluid but what impressed me most was Airey's keyboards which were versatile throughout the album; sometimes in a church organ mode and others in plain piano notes, they were the stand out instrument. I have also enjoyed the realistic and often pragmatic approach of the lyrics: 'We goin' out tomorrow, gonna do it right / celebrate the fact that we're still alive', 'I don't care what shape you're in / We're all the same in the dark'. Recommendations: "Throw My Bones", "No Need to Shout", "What the What", "Nothing at All".

4.5 superb | MikeAkerfeldt89 | August 7th 20 | After a 6 decades-long carreer, still putting out bangers like this that rock harder than 80% of bands out there? Truly mindblowing! Gonna give these guys credit

4.0 excellent | Navymetalman | June 17th 20 | I found this album available on HDTRACKS.COM. I think they put it up accidentally, since the release date was pushed back due to COVID 19. However, I was able to download it, and I am glad that I did. It is an excellent album for fans of traditional Deep Purple rock. Not all of it, but enough to make it an excellent addition to the music library. Rock on...

3.5 great | prnzokoshiro | June 15th 20 | certainly the most prolific of the 1st-ish crop of classic rock bands... even though they abandoned proto-metal a long, long time ago, and arguably haven't had a 'great' album since Purpendicular (hey, I liked Rapture of the Deep!) - the fact that they are still around and haven't run their reputation into the dirt (ok ok, Slaves and Masters sucks a giant voidgina, I know), is commendable in of itself along with the fact there's always a couple good tracks off each... The Who was pretty cool last year (*great* 1st track), maybe these 2 will be rivals so labels can nerd out messing with the release dates
