this isnt just a pop album this is love and beauty and hate all crammed into a pop album. which pretty much makes this post rock. this is my favourite post rock album.

Taylor Swift is the latest in a long line of artists to effectively capture the trials and tribulations of youthful life and love. Do not write her off as an airhead country starlet or pop diva - she's just a songwriter building a repertoire laced with outrageously perfect pop hooks. Fearless is a first-hand account of teenage optimism, apprehension and heartache cloaked in infectiously melodic pop. Swift writes like a teenager, there is no doubt, but it nonetheless thoroughly suits the album. Witnesses compositions like Fifteen, You Belong to Me and the hit single Love Story that surely foretell a remarkable future for Swift.

Utterly groan inducing. It's already completely generic as it is, but the personality she presents takes it from forgettable to grating. "SHE WEARS SHORT SKIRTS I WEAR T-SHIRTS!" Oh my god! What happened next, I have to know!

Taylors Swift combines my two least liked genres (country and pop, not Animal Collective type pop, just radio pop) into one monstrosity. She also fails on the emotional level, because while many people "connect" with her high school experiences, I do not, leaving me with just an over-produced piece of garbage by a girl that just happens to be pretty and have a good voice.

One of the most superbly conceived, written and executed pop music albums of the last few years, Taylor Swift's Fearless is nothing if not honest. In teenage rhetoric she eases her way through 13 tracks of pure hooks, carried by a country-tinged pop backdrop complete with acoustic guitars, sappy pianos and persistent drums. Those not into the whole simple (simplistic?) emotion thing will be turned off by her lyricism, but the truth is it's sweet, to the point, and incredibly endearing. The tempos switch, the subject matter stays the same - boys, basically - and the quality doesn't falter.

In her defence, I am clearly not the target audience for this - the lyrics on songs like 2 or 6 (or most of the record really) make that quite obvious. And this LP did seem stronger that her debut without straying too far away from it stylistically. But, while up to track 8 I was feeling a possible 2.8, 53min of country era Taylor Swift is more than I can handle. 9 is one ballad too many, and while 10-13 aren't perhaps actually weaker than the earlier tracks it was just time for the album to end as far as I am concerned. 1 is kinda fun though and shows a bit of rock mixed into the style of her debut but seemingly way better done. Same comment goes for 3 pretty much, while 4 reminded more of the debut's quality. 5 and 7 are ballads, and while normally I can't stand ballads in pop records, here she makes it kinda work because her style makes ballad far less of a rupture with the rest of the album and they blend in quite well. 6 is surprisingly fun for banjo pop, and 8 has a fun beat in the first few seconds and unfolds into what I guess is a top track here despite being far from being a jam, with its fun rhythm to it. Eh this is alright but not for me. 2.65

Some really strong country-pop here. The arrangements here are great and the innocent love tone thought is solid. their is some filler. Btw platinum version would actually bring this down to a 3/5, the bonus songs didn't do anything for me

Taylor Swift has an amazing ability to craft the most bland and meaningless music ever. The "hooks" do not catch anything; the melodies simply pass over me, provoking no response (other than disgust). Ms. Swift also sings completely devoid of emotion. She sounds exactly what you'd expect a hit factory to sound like: apathetic, simply hitting the notes without any regard for the meaning behind the words she's singing (which is pretty much nonexistent, so perhaps she's perfectly capturing the depth of the lyrics). This is the bottom of the barrel for Top 40 radio. I'd recommend Nicki Minaj over this.

i Loved this album, hated that ppl played the songs over and over, but loved the album. The one song i didnt really like was the best day. i dant get y she has to write songs like that. just like in her 1st album , tied together with a smile, and her 3rd album, never grow up. those three songs should go die in a hole. lmao jkjk, i just dont paricarlly like them
