In my opinion Testament's best record. An absolute Bay Area classic. The New Order is full of good moments like the title track, Trial by Fire, Into the Pit, Disciples of the Watch or The Preacher. An absolute Thrash masterpiece.

Testament continue their goth inspired thrash metal, while adding even more occult themed chords to their music. A great album, but in my opinion, not quite as fun to listen to as their debut, The Legacy.

The New Order is a far louder and, at times, angrier album than its predecessor. However, there are far less striking moments that will grab the listener and bring them into the album. Even so, this is another very stellar album which has plenty of staying power for those who simply want a heavy, satisfying thrash album.

When a 'Best thrash Albums' list is made, it is incomplete without at least one Testament album. If only one could be on such a list, it should be this one.

I've never been much of a fan of the big four of the thrash. Sure they were all great bands who wrote great songs but they seemed to lack the passion and consistency of other thrash bands (aside from Slayer, who remain true to thrash). Testament are the thrash band for me. If I'm honest, it should have been the big five. And this is one of their best albums. I love the raw tone, and the riffs are pure perfection. "Disciples Of The Watch" is brilliant. I love the epic 1 minute intro and then heading into an amazing thrash riff. And then there's the title track; "The New Order". Guitar genius; it remains my favourite Testament song. This album is amazing. "Formation Of Damnation" is the closest that's come to beating it; which proves... Testament are still alive and kicking.
