RAW is the word to describe this. Primitive, fast and sloppy. Just the wayyou like your raw BM. It is pretty good, however the mix is worse than bad.

Most bands make this sort of stuff sound silly and try-hard (especially in the vocal department), but these guys actually sounded like a bunch of bloodgargling cultists. Perfect production. Don't be a wimp. It helps that in most tracks, the chaos subsides and there's some big shameless rockin' bridge.

As a lover of raw, filthy and dark-as-hell black metal, I very rarely complain about
production. But on this it sadly annoys me, as it's inconsistent (meaning that on some
tracks it's better/different that on some others) and most of the time much unbalanced,
oriented to the left channel (at least on my CD version). I know I sound like a douche but a
balanced L/R production is the very only thing I must have production-wise.
Otherwise, this is pretty nice slab of some really hatred-full black metal with death metal
influences. The vocals are really good, which is the best thing on this. Not your usual
Norwegian screeching, but a very dark tone he has.
Tracks worth of checking are at least Ritual and Darkness Prevails, the latter
having one of the most demonic and hateful intros ever.

The definition of an album who's idea is better than its execution. It's not at all bad, you can tell why people would love this, but the overly blurring production job does a lot to harm the music. (seriously, the fucking demo has a better soundjob) The riffs are at times very good, but at others dull. The vocals give this quite the creepy feel as well, and the musicianship is appropriate for this primitive style of metal. Overall, it really boils down to whether you can tolerate the production or not. If you can, then you'll most likely love this. Myself, I stick with the demo.
But hey production isn't essential to aany metal album ever amirite fella?!
