One of the best metal albums of all time. No filler. Please, adapt your ears to the type of heavy metal sound of the seventies and put it very very loud (If your neighbour is not knocking at your door, you're playing too low), be prepared to hear the master of all the heavy voices of all time at their best, guitar here is awesome, you will surrender to Tyrant magesty.
And remember.......Catalonia is NOT Spain
Arguably the most captivating and cohesive collection of songs the legendary Judas Priest has put forth in its impressively prolific and prolonged career. Tracks such as "Victim of Changes" and "Tyrants" stand atop a coveted arch of metal classics, mixing sometimes abstract and progressive song structures with awe-inducing vocal climaxes at every turn. Most importantly, Sad Wings of Destiny just plain feels good to listen to. A classic among classics.
Sad Wings of Destiny saw the Priests begin to consolidate their formula. Fusing the elements of Purple, Zeppelin and Sabbath into a single sound, they would thus achieve the consolidation of heavy metal.
Whilst not quite the classic half the queef users of sputnik would have you believe, this is definitely a great release that has some really menacing songs on it that creep you the fuck out but The Ripper is the only outright classic on here. the lead assault is teh best thing about this with some great guitar work throughout and the vocals are absolutely fucking batshit insane wow.
If Judas Priest were in the Oxford Dictionary, this would be the definition:
1. n Heavy Metal
True pioneers of the genre, Priest are still one of the best.
