Snow Patrol offer up a new album that is more then just a comeback attempt after the mainstream success that was Eyes Open, infact it is better. Although no song matches the catchiness of Hands Open or the epic romanticness of Chasing Cars (although Close The Shutters comes close) it is better as an overall themed album. And the theme is space.
Yes, I know when mainstream artists try to do a more themed album they, well suck. But if Coldplay can release a concept record that ended up being one of the best albums of 08 why can't Snow Patrol?
So they add a more mellow, adventureous soundscape and Gary Lightbody works on his lyrics and create the slow moving, atmospheric grower that is A Hundred Million Suns.
