While Unearth's The March isn't exactly anything new and the album art is pretty bad, it's still a really enjoyable metalcore album and a worthy addition to the band's already stellar discography. This album's twelve new songs take the band further away from their once hardcore-oriented sound and more into a groove/thrash metal hybrid, while still maintaining an unhealthy amount of breakdowns. Unearth has never sounded as melodic or as shreddy thanks to Buz McGrath's massive improvement on the fretboard. Sure, it's a slightly less amazing version of III: In the Eyes of Fire, but it's still worthy of any metal fan's attention. One of the must-have metal albums of the year.

Metalcore I am able to listen to
Hmm... I`m no fan of metalcore to say first. But there are few things that changes my opinion to positive in this case.
First: vocals don`t annoy me as on the much of the records of this genre (even if they`re very similar from start to end). Second: undeniable (NY) hardcore feeling, but with way more melodic solos. Plus: catchy refrains. And third: I feel honesty and devotion to a kind of music they play.
Consistent record, what may also mean monotonous a little. That is the biggest flaw I think, songs are too similar.
Anyway, good effort guys!
edit 2021: well I listened to it after long time, nad givig down my rating by halfpoint, as it sounded well to me before, now i think it is not so good record, average lets say.

The most surprising thing about The March is it's ability to sound like power metal, but with shouted vocals. The guitar leads are really uplifting, and almost sound like something DragonForce would do, but more tasteful. Grave of Opportunity really shows this, and is my favorite song on this CD. My biggest complaint is that some of the bluesy guitar solos sound pretty forced. Other than that, it's a good CD for getting pumped, if nothing else.

This is another step up for unearth. I still like the oncoming storm the best, but this ranks up near it. If you like their previous shit, buy this.

bland bland bland bland!
Im hearing it for the fourth time and fail to see something that just amazes me. Yes i did notice that they are slightly better at playing their instruments, but these is so much more of the same old thing. I did enjoy the vol. 3 rehashed things, because they hitted harder that the others before, but this is more of the same and just fails to hit.
I really did expect something so much better, these guys were once in the top of my playlist, with this outing they just failed me. And... i will not buy it.
