As a big Plini head I can't help but be slightly disappointed on first listens. It's admirable that he's pushing his boundaries outside of his 'djent' roots by adding a jazzier sound with the piano and saxophone. That being said much of this ep lacks the raw energy and soaring leads that got me interested in the first place.

This isn't bad by any means, but after no releases for two years, a four song EP just doesn't cut it for me. What's here is amazing, but it feels like the first half of an album that just isn't there, and it's extremely disappointing.

This EP shows Plini treading new grounds while reinforcing his core sound. Albeit short, it's Plini's most adventurous and jazzier effort to date, and tracks like Kind or Flâneur are easily among his best work so far.
