Quietly is a Post Metal beast, in every sense. The most slow moving parts are reminisent of Ambient Post Rock powerhouses like Gregor Samsa and Fennesz while at it's most pissed off and climatic points Mouth of the Architect create moments with such passion and rage that if will make you want to burn something down. The highlight of the album, Hate And Heartache which features Peter Finch's famous “Mad as Hell” speech from Sidney Lumet’s 1976 classic Network, shows off Quietly's hateful but blissful atmosphere in it's best form. Mouth of the Architect takes the cake for my favorite Post Metal album of 2008.
One of the best sludge/post-metal albums of all time. Rather than stealing musicianship from other bands such as ISIS, Neurosis and Cult of Luna, MOTA takes these influences and shapes and molds itself into something completely different. An unforgettable journey, a breathtaking experience.
