Boring as H! I'll tell you what is disabled, is disabled, is disabled. Their ability to write a song that has more than 2 or 3 chords repeted throughout.

The very controversial and enigmatic Death in June possess a hypnotic quality in their repetitive song-writing. At the same time the repetition turns the relatively brief runtime into a wearisome ordeal. Even though the songs separately range from eerie to beautiful.

Sadly, a lot of the faults you've read about this album are true. Lyrically lazy, predictable instrumentation patterns, and pretty much else Joshua (the 2.5/5 review) stated. However, this is an album that features other good qualities as heard in their prior albums such as their folk outfit w/ industrial ambience in '92. This is an album that had a helping in setting the standard for apocalyptic folk and that counts for historic value, but certainly nothing different from their last two albums. Basically the album is a longer version of Brown Book, if Brown Book was too short for anyone out there.

DiJ leave behind their completely unique mixture of synthpop, punk and nearly proto-shoegaze ambience and Douglas begins flatly murmuring his indulgent prose over predictable chord progressions. Pretty much corporate country music for goths/nazis. First track is the only one that impresses.
