I think there are a lot of people trying to will this to instant classic status. I don't see the point.
Obviously, there are a lot of emotional subjects tied up in these songs, but it's not trying to be so
grand in it's scope. It's certainly a nice sigh of relief as a counterpoint to "ye" though, proof that he
hasn't lost the plot completely. Maybe we don't need to expect so much anymore. This is enough.
Imaginative, thoughtful with moments of euphoria. Bringing out in the best in his collaborators.

Kanye West arrived with everything in the first half of the year. Controversial declarations in social networks, an own album that emerges as a watershed, productive collaborations as in the new Pusha T disc, and a collaborative record with Kid Cudi. The work is up in the house and in the studio of the West's, and "Kids See Ghosts" shows that it is not just a usual job, but one with great production effort. Kanye sometimes misses his audience and his timing, but by the way he's relentless this year.

Kanye reviving Cudi. I think it's my favourite Kanye-made project this decade. It's so compact and brings a lot of emotion and energy in such a short amount of time.

Part 3 of the Wyoming Sessions sees Kanye West connect with long time collaborator and protege Kid Cudi. It can be said that both artists are perhaps five years late to the party, but oh boy...Kids See Ghosts is the best thing both artists have put out in a long time. There are hints and spades of both artists in this...808's, MOTM...all these albums are obvious points of references, but Kids See Ghosts doesn't ever feel like a mere continuation of those sounds, but rather a natural evolution. The rock elements are executed best here than on any of their solo projects. It really serves as a reminder of what made us fall in love with the Cudder and Yeezy in the first place. While it cannot be overstated how essential Cudi is to this project, holy shit...this is some of Kanye's best bars ever. He doesn't have a weak performance on any of these tracks. His verse on Cudi Montage is top 3 Ye for me. This is the best Wyoming project...it's cohesive, innovative, well produced, lyrically dense, grandiose, meditative and beautiful. This is their beautiful dark twisted fantasy.

This psychedelic-ish direction should be the direction for hip hop to head in after trap inevitably dies. Absolute bangers and a very eccentric and captivating sound and mood from start to finish, took a while to really click with me but it ended up being my third favourite hip hop album of the year so far (second if you don't count Death Grips whose new album doesn't have too much to do with hip hop really)

Kanye and Kudi come together to write a short and sweet 7 track project that has no weak spots. Catchy hooks, amazing production and fun lyrics are found throughout. A lot of rappers and even bands in general could learn a thing or two from them about quality over quantity.

Eclectic and organic, Kids See Ghosts shows Kanye and Cudi as a creative duo to be reckoned with. The only elements pulling this album down are the same that made DAYTONA such a standout: the gaunt structure and precise editing. The acoustic sections of this album do not do any favors for Cudi, and feel unnecessary in spite of the scant 24 minute runtime.

Cudi and Kanye join together to create Kids See Ghosts which really feels like a natural and smooth collaboration as they venture into psychadelic, artsy pop rap territory blowing 'ye' out of the water in terms of albums which heavily feature Mr. West. The beats have a Kanye feel to them but often feature obscured and ethereal samples creating something that works very well for both Kanye and Cudi vocals. Kids See Ghosts does a great job diving into the ghastly cloud, psych rap style while still retaining what Kanye and Cudi were always good at. The poppy and artsy both contrast and compliment each other in a way that makes this record so easy to keep putting on over and over again. Unlike the perfectly concise Daytona, this album feels like it could use some more time to expand on the concept and create a grander work with more flow to it; the atmosphere seems like it would lend itself to a longer more digestible full-length. Also some of Kanye's meh 2018 lyrics, not quite as bad as ye here, show up and are just forgettable. The production on this album and Daytona are certainly the best Kanye work behind the booth in quite some time and it is hard to not be hopeful for the future after these two projects dropped in one year.

Once again, the 7-track 20something-minute format proves a hella G.O.O.D. format for airtight beat-work and artistic showcasing. It's not as definite as Daytona, but ya gotta hand it to Kanye as curator -- not only does he know what makes Cudi tick, but as a duo they auspiciously click; and together they craft a riveting recovery record that's far more poignant and playful and diverse than Ye's pompous Ye. Mental mantras go "keep moving forward", "stay strong", "I feel freeee"; Pusha T and Ty Dolla $ign are pulled for braggadocious grit and ginormous gospelized bellows respectively. Even the Kid's moaning muppetry and sad demo-ish acoustic strummin' are well-implemented.

44/100. I genuinely don't see the appeal of this. Cudi's moaning is annoying from the first track and I thought Ye's flows were often sloppy and underwhelming. While the production is decent, I have to say this is a whiff in the GOOD music summer line up, although it seems like I'm alone in thinking that.
