4.1 excellent | Erwann S. STAFF | December 19th 19 | The soundtrack to the apocalypse. The martial death industrial is what you'll hear when the earth will start shaking. The shrieks will be those of your beloved ones now turned into partly alive faceless entities who can't carry no weight because the west has failed. You won't understand those shrieks, because they can't talk anymore and because you can't hear anymore, but this will be the very last form of loving. From time to time, you'll hear a woman's voice, but it's off script, it's only in your head, even though you can't think about anything because nothing is stirring your head. You are blessed, alone. An urn is all you'll have left in this wretched world. So you'll wander, totally alone, and it will slowly transform your sick heart into sand. Ten times a day, everyday, you'll be a stranger both to the world, and to yourself. Ok, if I stop randomly putting the song titles into a shit post-apocalyptic story, I love this record compared to other The Body releases for how industrial it sounds. The relative lack of drone compared to their other releases make this one truly stand out.

0.0 | Nerdurosis | April 26th 19 | Like others have mentioned I can't get past the vocals, and I guess I'm not a fan of the really harsh, grinding noise based industrial like this. For what it's worth I appreciate the bleakness and rawness of the musicianship, but that's about it. There are no concrete redeeming qualities that pull me in further.

3.5 great | TheManMachine | July 11th 18 | First two tracks have me siked for a refreshingly subtler ride with the eventual potential to match the marvel of their last one. Then the ol standby mien that has previously crushed and elated and terrified me starts to kick in; albeit a seemingly stiffer staler sillier but ultimately still roaring+riveting rendering. Lotsa dependence on bass-blare blowouts and cymbal crashes, some fall-flat dramatic corn, craggy noise that sounds like a fan filtered through crunch, and of course that rooster a-crowing; which fades from creepy digitized abstraction of a scream into redundant frivolity pretty quickly. More evident here than heretofore is that these aren't actually troubled mutants, they just like playing em -- the consummation of which is a closing monologue so clumsy I find myself giggling at rather than sympathizing for someone who's reached the peak of emptiness. As far as the truly vibrant voxers go, allow me to quote an unfamiliar bench-sat skater from Supreme's 'Cherry' video: "Shoutout to the ladies, yo."

4.0 excellent | dbizzles | May 15th 18 | This is the first release from The Body where I feel everything works. The distortion and mixing on the vocals and the guest performances are both the perfect contrast and compliment to the cavernous folds of the music. This is likely the most interesting release of the year for metal so far, even surpassing the successful and experimental EP recently released by their peers, Thou.

it, boys.

4.0 excellent | noahconstrictor | May 14th 18 | Trying to define this under any genre is basically impossible. It's a very unique blend of noise, metal, orchestral vocals, and even some pop at times. I'm not sure that I'd listen to it again, but it's an absolutely bleak and wonderful thrill ride.

4.5 superb | P0nto | May 14th 18 | that last song monologue is massively depressing, never going to listen this again, no away . Rest of the album is nothing short of greatness , never listened much of the body, but this mix of pop, industrial and whatever is what i want to listen ( expect the last track, the last track is suicide)
