Moonspell adds another solid release to their already impressive catalogue. With Night Eternal, the band leaves behind their Atmospheric Gothic Rock influences showcased in The Antidote and in some parts of Memorial, to embrace a heavy Black Metal oriented sound. This means, that they?ve never sounded this direct and straightforward in terms of composition before. Night Eternal is heavy, fast and dark. This is probably the best vocal performance of Fernando Ribeiro in my opinion. Also the guitar work is dynamic, with some of the band?s best riffs and with some nice solos here and there. The drumming is excellent and the keyboards are truly outstanding. A superb record from start to finish.
