3.5 great | Spluger | September 19th 17 | "Forced Witness" might come across as a bit redundant and lame with it's 80's throwback vibe to some. Alex Cameron just barely manages to win you over with a great personality, good beats and quirky lyrics about things such as cheating on your partner over the internet, falling in love with strippers and feeling like Marlon Brando circa 1999.

3.0 good | Bedex | August 11th 20 | While I can see the appeal, this has an aesthetic I struggle to resonate with, except on a few select funkier, more upbeat tracks. Cameron walks the line between quirky fun and absolute corn quite shakily, and as far as I am concerned it is more frequently on the latter side than the former - but I also understand how it would be the contrary for others. Anyhoo this is undeniably far far superior to his debut, and you can tell from the first few seconds. This has more variation, more in-track evolution, more sounds and more colour. Because of that and of the surprise brass addition, 1's a fun track. 2 is also helped with the fun sax and is fine too. 3's one of my digs as a fun 80s song. But 4 and its duet I struggle to take seriously, probs my least fave track here. 5's the same but a bit better, but 6 and 9 (nice) are no-nos. 7's at least funkier and alright, and 8 is ok too and quite fun. 10 is perhaps my one other real dig, it works quite well. But other than that this isn't really my cuppa, don't @me dedex 2.8

4.5 superb | olisz | August 4th 20 | Incredible album! Every song here is a total banger with not only excellent songwriting, but also catchy and funny lyrics. Expecially the first 4 tracks really steal the show for me.

4.1 excellent | Erwann S. STAFF | December 19th 19 | Kaputt, but done by a madman; or Dedicated to Bobby Jameson, but done by a sane dude. Slowly becoming one of my favourite pop records of the decade. It's funky'n'bouncy, it's tongue-in-cheek, and it has that special mix of 80s and 2010s nostalgia flavour on top. All that is due to the special blend of genres done: it's synthpop, but with a knack of sophistication (hence the Kaputt link) and some 80s-90s heartland rock revival (hence the Ariel Pink link). Sorry Ariel, Alex won this. Kaputt still ownz the place tho.
