Def better than the first one, but they still just don't do it for me. I recognize that the rapping is good,
and they seem to be having fun as they ape the "Oldie" model to varying degrees of success. But
none of it really ever latches on. Glad this current gen of 16 y/o kids who like to pore over supreme
lookbooks and just discovered "freaks and geeks" last week have someone to look up to, though.

The best release of the Saturation trilogy and their best album by far. It has the production value, the likable as hell personalities (for the most part), catchy flows, and quotable lyricism. But it has its duds and the appearance of Merlyn in some tracks test my patience.

Pop rap boy band's second effort is once again excellent but fails to really expand the ideas found on the first album of the SATURATION series. The strength in songwriting, beat-making, rapping and singing are all here once again and stylistically II is extremely similar to I. That may sound somewhat negative but Brockhampton get away with it because they have a great knack for weaving great rap, delivered by such a diverse cast of personalities, with infectious pop hooks. Their formula is just so strong and fresh right now. The stretch of music between GUMMY and JUNKY is untouchable and it really shows how good this outfit truly is. All of the members bring their own flavor and styles and this massive group effort is what makes Brockhampton special. They approach racism and LGBT topics (Kevin Abstract on JUNKY is legendary) in refreshing ways and there are hints that this hip hop group has members who may actually respect women, something unheard of since the rise of trap rap (/s but when will rappers stop using bitch/your girl as a lame lyrical crutch). Infectious songwriting, soulful singing and strong rapping are a dangerously good combination and Brockhampton has a unique, approachable flair that is reminiscent of when Outkast rose to fame.

brockhampton's saturation ii is an improvement on every level over the first entry from this trilogy (especially in terms of lyrics), giving every member of the group a moment to shine. two amazing albums in a really short amount of time, from a group that contains 12 members or so. that's insane, and everyone should start taking them seriously because they might be starting not only something exciting, but most importantly, something truly important for the hip hop genre. 4.5

Brockhampton's Saturation II improves upon its predecessor in ways I didn't even think of. The group dynamic is
somehow even tighter - singers Joba and Bearface don't just loom in the shadows for most of the album like on
Saturation. I heard someone on a forum like Saturation II to the film Guardians of the Galaxy and as odd of a
comparison as that sounds, I can kind of see it. It has the cinematic scope of a sequel, where all our heroes are
reassembled in all flashy effects to once again fight the good fight. The beats are bigger and better - it's a lot like
an upgraded, bigger budget version of Saturation. The hooks are still there and even the writing has improved,
there's hardly a bad verse on this thing. Hell, even what would probably be this album's versions of 2Pac are
much stronger, featuring great verses from both Ameer and Kevin (Teeth and Jesus) And while some tracks are
weaker or more generic than others (Chick, Gamba, Sunny), the strength of the bulk of this album outweighs
them, crafting an album more ambitious and ultimately better than the previous one. rBest Songs: Gummy,
