Pretty good, but I wish Rory would vary his vocal melody lines because his singing sections
are getting really predictable

Also Garrett Russell's guest spot on Sleep In The Sea Part II was fantastic, those lows were
astounding

Favorite songs: Vultures, Sleep In The Sea Part II, Desolate, Waking Is Rising

what a surprise it sounds like nearly every other metalcore record of the last 5 years or so with a few minor changes but hey that warrants it praise right

This [rly pretentious hotel books leftover album title] album continues the steady trend
of Dayseeker making their sound a bit more uniform tonally. Not that they were bad at it
before, but both Origin and this album (you can't make me type out the title until I
review this thing) are more cohesive in mood as well as balancing the heavy versus
melodic sides that post hardcore/metalcore bands have been battling for a long time now.
Dayseeker continue to blend an Architects/Silent Planet esque sound with a more vocally
central one that gives them their own somewhat unique flavor. Musically it's a great up
and down journey of dizzying fretboard runs, earth churning grooves, and atmospheric
interludes. Rory is at the top of his game here, sure his style should be pretty similar
to his last couple records, but it was also a distinctive style in the first place and
his harsh vocals get a bit more dynamic and achieve more grit with every release.
Vultures and Sleep in the Sea Part 2 are the obvious standouts, but it's delightfully
free of filler, aside from maybe the intro track. Whether it tops Origin...only time will
tell.

great melodies and excellent vocal performance, now they just need less breakdowns
