Honestly nowhere near as bad as some people are making it out to be. Enjoyed this on about the same level as their debut.

This duo was close to being a home name for garage rock but this album shows how the debut had more fluff than on first hear. If this is the direction they want to go then look for them doing great stock audio riffs for footage that makes people walk feel like a badass.

How Did We Get So Dark? represents a collection of tracks that individually would stand as very successful b-sides. However, the band plays it very safe here: despite lots of energy and hard riffing put through, compositions lack a bit of inspiration both in terms of music and lyrics. It doesn't grab you by the hair as the debut did. Recommendations: "How Did We Get So Dark?", "Hook, Line & Sinker", "Hole In Your Heart"

The only songs I really like are She's Creeping, Sleep, Lights Out, and Hook, Line & Sinker. The rest feels like filler. Definitely a step down from their debut.
