Claims of revolutionism aside, it is very nice to hear Frankie sing again.

Nothing groundbreaking, but I was
impressed. With the "signature" Emmure
sound still fully intact, Josh Travis
brings a few new ideas to the table.
Grooves hard. Turtle In A Hare Machine and
Gucci Prison especially.

Emmure is not the most technical band, but I have a feeling this is gonna be a good album and a fun one. It's probably gonna blow Felony, SOTD, STTG, and Eternal Enemies away.

Frankie's new lineup is the best thing that couldve happened for him. the instrumentals are still emmure style, but with more energy and variation that adds more atmosphere to the overall sound. Frankie's vocals are awesome as always and he's more furious and ferocious than ever. Easily their best album since goodbye to the gallows.

We all know Emmure music is the least original and at this point they don't bring anything new to the table.rBut this album is fun, hard and enjoyable. I stopped caring about Emmure a long time ago but I can see myself bumping this on my car from time to time.

For all the flak Emmure receive for be uncreative or unoriginal, they're a whole lot of fun if you don't take them seriously. They have an undeniable penchant for writing some of the catchiest and bounciest breakdowns out there, and are one of the few bands that can make entire songs out of said breakdowns and nothing else and still be entertaining. I believe it has to do with the placement of the kick drums during the measure; I could be wrong, but whatever the band does, it makes their breakdowns entirely infectious. That the band has been able to come up with as many different rhythms and patterns using basically only this is actually kind of impressive. They take deathcore to its logical extreme and focus on only that most ignorant and that most catchy of it's aspects and it's good fun. Look At Yourself is really no different. Sure there might be more groove involved, but it's more or less just Emmure doing what they and few others do best. And by the way, Frankie Palmeri is still a monster of a harsh vocalist and if you're taking any of the lyrics seriously or even paying attention to them at all you're missing the point entirely.

This still isn't good but I gave the new Suicide Silence a 1.5/5 and this is loads better, so I rguess I gotta 2/5 it to be objective. Still awful junky chugga wugga wug rapcore djunt angsty kid rMeshuggah wannabe pound-down pseudo-deathcore, but not *completely* awful. Like, there are some rriffs that are actually cool, the production is pretty good, whatshisname's harsh vocals are ractually pretty good (his lows are obnoxious, but his screams are fairly decent), the intense rbreakdown-y moments are uh... intense, the rapping isn't totally horrible. It's not a complete rwaste of time, just mostly a waste. Like 6/10 waste, ~4/10 not waste. So it's a 2/5. Good job, rEmmure!

I gave this a low score because one reason: every individual on this album has proven they have more creative talent than playing the same Korn/nu-metal breakdowns over and over and over. The exception to this is Frankie Palmeri, a delusional man child who people still support .. for some reason.

I find it kinda strange that after this whole lineup drama, Frankie came back with a new lineup
and now the band is stronger than they ever were. This album is bloody fun and now I can honestly
say that I enjoy Emmure. Hope that they will continue with this direction.
