Short-lived and appropriately brash, Crossover Ministry is another quality, fun slice to add to 2017's already-impressive selection of thrash albums.

While Crossover Ministry is probably the weakest Iron Reagan album to date, it's still an absolute joy to behold. It has some political lyrics, but, honestly, who gives a fuck?

Relentless, full of youthful vigor, and complete with a tongue-in-cheek approach, Crossover Ministry is an entertaining album of crossover thrash from some solid purveyors in Iron Reagan. It's not the most original affair and is somewhat homogenous, but the aggression and above-average songwriting make up for that. The production gives the drums a wonderful punch, and gives the guitars a full and powerful sound. There's even some standout tracks above the otherwise static quality; lead single "Bleed The Fifth" makes use of some large tempo changes by writing appropriately sludgy and thrashy riffs, and "Dead With My Friends" includes some well-incorporated piano which gives the song a more serious edge to it. Iron Reagan may not be the greatest crossover band out there, but make no mistake, they're still a highly enjoyable and high-quality group, as evidenced by this record.
