Meta is absolutely punishing. Imagine Meshuggah and The Dillinger Escape Plan blended in a
sharknado. Cenotaph is a bit of a dud, but every other track is golden.

All I hear is a blend of DEP and Meshuggah. The fact that a blend like this is coming out in 2016 is kind of disappointing. These guys are clearly pretty talented, but they are making shit that sounds like it has been played before and will be played again. Some of the droning/slowed djent breakdowns make me wish I was watching permafrost melt in the Arctic because it'd be less depressing.

Fuck, their last album made me grow off them. This is still their best record, but it does not feel as relentlessly punishing as before. Basically, "Bleed" riffs and Contortionist-like atmospheric passages: the album.

There are just no words... How anyone can rate this below a 3 is beyond me. This is FAR from an average record
in every sense. Been jamming this almost every single day since it was released. This is the best metal record of
2016, and "The Oppressor" is a contender for top metal tracks of the decade. Soul-shaterringly heavy.
