Whilst this LP may not have the energy or intensity that people might want/ expect from a post-hardcore record, it easily makes up for this by being a well crafted, soft, chilled record by having moments of intricacy as well as catchy poppy sections. Also I personally prefer the second half but I guess each to their own.

Despite every member of this band being extremely talented, everyone feels like they're on rautopilot for the majority of this record. All the standout tracks are found in the first half, rmaking this a slog to listen to all the way through. Despite this being kind of aimless, the rinstruments and vocals are done very well, making this a very nice sounding record if nothing relse.

This is everything I've ever wanted from this style of post-hardcore. It has the noodling you would come to expect from Will Swan and company, but with a much bigger emphasis on tones, textures, and wacky guitar effects. The songs are all fairly short, but that doesn't stop them from packing in a lot of ideas and creating some really interesting song structures. Michael Franzino is also a welcome addition to the group. His pummeling bass gives this album a unique, dark feel and drives a majority of the tracks.

Considering how strong the EP was and how hard the members have been killing it in their
respective bands, it's incredibly disappointing how boring this is.
Zero risks, zero dynamic shifts, zero attempts to transcend the sound of their primary projects.
Just 41 minutes of aimless noodling and then it ends.
About as inessential as prog gets. At least most bad prog is interesting in a "this is a disaster
but at least they're going for it!" kind of way. This just feels like something that got made more
because the fans wanted it than because anyone involved actually wanted to make it.
The art's really pretty, though!

At its best this sounds like HRVRD. The calmer phases are especially enjoyable. At its
worse this sounds like a complete cacophony with gimmicky guitar riffs overpowering the
flavorful elements of the music. Climaxes and explosions in this are not fantastic, and
even sometimes irritating. There are many records out there that are similar to this, but
just better, including other works by the members of this band.

I'll have to listen again but this really bored me minus the singles. As much as I
appreciate that this project isn't a carbon copy of any of the members' original bands,
it lacks all of their energy

This is what circa survive could have been if they would still do post-hardcore instead of progressive rock.rIts like a better newer circa survive release with a nice blend of "on letting go" and "violent waves", which is good. rVery good album. Like it very much.rBut lacks a bit on own ideas
