Although Nyktalgia are just another in a long line of Burzum worshippers, their self-titled release is a fine piece of 'depressive black metal' that doesn't rely on the faux-sorrow trappings of their contemporaries. Both "Misere Nobis" and "Lamento Larmoyant" are fantastic, containing varying tempos and song structures. Combined with Varg style vocals, these attributes make for a very cathartic and interesting listen. Save this one for an overcast day.
