4.0 excellent | Deadwing42 | April 18th 16 | This is probably my favorite Filter album, and I really love Title of Record. The thing about this one is that it's extremely fast paced. The songs are varied and every track here has something to offer. The first 6 songs all tap into a different sort of appeal, and they typically pull it off really well. This makes for an album that is enjoyable throughout its entirety even if few individual tracks blow anyone away. While it does eventually revert to something more similar to the standard hard rock they've been doing for an album or two, the overall feel of the album is a lot more ferociously scrappy than they've been in some time. Favorite tracks: Mother E, Nothing in my Hands, Kid Blue.

3.5 great | judasgoat | April 12th 16 | After Filter's creatively bankrupt previous album, a change like this one was sorely needed. And
Richard Patrick pulls it off really well, adding in a healthy dose of electronics and just enough
quirkiness to make the album stand out.
Unfortunately, the album does go back into standard rock mode for the second half, but the last
two tracks make up for it. Very solid overall.

3.5 great | Trey STAFF | April 12th 16 | Filter have never been an industrial band. They've always featured electronics in their music, but they're basically alt. metal. Having said that, this is definitely a good alt. metal album that features a decent use of electronics.

2.5 average | AlanVext | April 8th 16 | Maybe this album will gel with me more over time, but initial first impressions aren't fantastic. The opening 2 tracks are great though, especially Mother E (the track that made me pre-order). But Mother E is by far the best song on the album and the most industrial sounding. Crazy Eyes has a ton of live drumming which really detracts from the industrial sound of the record. There's tons of guitars on it, where's the keyboard driven songs?! Calling this an industrial record, or Neu Industrial as Rich is marketing as, is really wishful thinking. It doesn't go far enough, Rich is a rocker, not a rivethead.

3.0 good | WilhelmBlack | April 6th 16 | A step towards the right direction, but Richard Patrick's voice is done and this is coming from a guy who has seen Filter 5 times live. I can tell a difference from 10 years ago to now, he has destroyed his voice screaming and I think the alcohol abuse had something to do with it. Album-wise, it is the most listenable since The Amalgamut, but it wouldn't take much to improve so. The weaknesses on this album are his voice, the lack of a unique heavy sound, the lyrics, and I feel like I have heard this type of album before and I know it has been done better. The positives are as mentioned before, a step in the right direction, "Take Me To Heaven", and the fact that it isn't completely soft. I still think it is too soft and I am not a fan of the production on this album. 3/5
