4.5 superb | XSebbyMcMuffinX | March 18th 21 | This is a really hard album to encompass the artistry of in words without doing research on the actual topic of each instrumental, but I can definitely say that the musicality is of a degree relative to a masterclass jazz musician, but within a specific style I've never heard anywhere due to the required technical prowess. This isn't exercises: This is enticing brain fuel from start to finish, with psychological analyses engorging (both definitions) vivid sensations that reach towards root functions within the brain. Activation Synthesis Theory is one of the greatest metal instrumentals I have ever heard, with a solo that's nearly impossible to put into notation without making a mess. A monumental instrumental release.

4.5 superb | GamamJ | May 23rd 20 | Insanely good. You get Ron Jarzambek, who seemingly can do no wrong at his best, Webster's clear Death Metal influence and sturdy bass playing from CC, along with a stellar performance on drums. No vocals no problem. Super good.

4.5 superb | branflakes911 | April 7th 14 | There is almost nothing not to like here. WIth Ron Jarzombek at the helm and the talented Webster and Zeleny in tow this is a metal musician's wet dream: fast, technical, jarring, heavy and with a definite and unique melodic character. Jarzombek is a metal genius, and this is just his latest and heaviest masterwork.

4.5 superb | Slaytan | October 27th 08 | Blotted Science's The Machinations Of Dementia is an instrumental album done right. All of the instruments fit well together, even during the overly technical passages. All members of the band execute their parts flawlessly and create melodies and harmonies that will leave the listener in awe. The drumwork is complex and tight, and does a great job of holding everything together. All in all, despite the lack of vocals the album does not suffer at all. Blotted Science have found the right balance of melody with technicality with The Machinations Of Dementia.

4.0 excellent | moltenlava | July 6th 08 | This disc is beyond brilliant. It's definitely not something you would envision as product of the average human mind. At least, not a normally functioning human mind. The brain of an 'Idiot Savant' gave rise to this music, no doubt. This is all 'outside-the-box' thinking. And, it will get the listener thinking in different categories as these all-instrumental pieces unfold for you at break-neck speed. The members of this group come from many of the big names in Avant-Garde and Technical Metal. Bands like Watchtower, Spastic Ink, Behold...The Arctopus and Lamb of God. If you get off on the music of the bands listed, you'll be diggin' hard on this sixteen track collection of technical and cerebral insanity.
