Some of the songs rely too much on "African" sounding instruments & beats, but the effect is potent all throughout the album. rWhile I prefer One Particular Loop's sound, this is a much stronger & more deliberate album.

the first few tracks paint this as a spawling, eclectic poppy affair that 2010's jonsi solo outings work might have dabbled in, but then it cuts things back into more reserved territory in tempo and pace. Thats not a complaint, as the songwriting stays strong throughout. I'm going to plant a 4 on it for now, but if it grows I can see it leading the altrock album charts for a good chunk of 2016.
