Undoubtedly, Tyler's best and most surprising release. Dense and eccentric beats with a decent range of rap styles. Not a huge fan of OFWGKTA, but this and Earl's new LP definitely give the collective +2 cool points. 3.8/5

Perhaps Tyler should've gone full on production and leave the vocals for other artists. He proved us time after time that he can make decent stuff musically but keeps getting set back by his boring and repetitive lyrical content. Tyler as a rapper hasn't progressed since Bastard imo but his music production surely did. Maybe it's time to stop being the center of attention and be the man behind the scenes.

Seriously what the fuck happened Tyler? This album is so all of the place, so convoluted, so confusing. One can definitely appreciate its out of the box production, but as a complete project, it kinda all meshes together as this headache inducing mess.

tyler attempts to create something that he does not obtain the capabilities of creating. the album has such an up down flow, and you can't really settle into it. there is definitely some solid production on a small handful of these tracks, but for the most part, this is a failed endeavor by tyler.

cherry bomb is tyler doing whatever the fuck he wants and not caring if you enjoy it or not. nothing new there. as for the album's sound: take everything that was musically odd about tyler--the abrasiveness, twisted themes, demented jazzy instrumentation, etc.--and amp it all the waaaay the fuck up. this is some dense shit. tyler himself is really scaled back here; his voice is quite low in the mix, probably holding as much weight musically as the background vocals and guest spots. gonna take a few more listens before rating it cuz of how goddamn thick and nuanced the music is.
