WE NOW COME AS RADIO ROCK ROMANS courtesy of David Bendeth. Wow this is seriously a
disappointment.
Tracing Back Roots showed hints of this type of radio rock sound but still had some passion and wcar signature
sound. This is just uninspired completely. The instrumentation is just terrible for the most part and songs like tear
It down and savior of the weak are laughable. It has some decent moments early on but overall this album is
their worst and a wrong turn in their career imo but probably will benefit them because of radio play. I could see
this coming but still this is a bummer.

I normally have a soft spot for these guys, but these two new singles are not impressive.
"Regenerate" is better than the other one but neither are great. Will give this a chance upon
release but this will not go into my pre-orders like the previous 3. Hoping the rest is
better. rImpression so far: 1.5/5. What happened to the band I used to know?
Edit: It's about what I figured: a sellout album. Many of the songs don't sound much different
than something you'd hear in a Breaking Benjamin album or maybe just some radio-friendly
pop/rock. While I have nothing against Breaking Benjamin, I hate this album because I've seen
where this band started out and where they've come to.

It's strange how the guitar parts sound like they're written by amateur players; yet no lineup changes have happened, and there's clear evidence in previous albums that both guitar players are more than decent at their instruments. The self-titled effort from We Came as Romans sounds very uninspired all-around, with a few catchy songs here and there to save it from being a total disgrace...but still leaving the listener with a lot more to be desired. I mean, it's a 30 minute album with about 8 minutes of it being nice. Great to hear how Dave (the screamer) is now ping-ponging clean [really good, actually] vocals with Kyle (the original clean singer). The drums feel restrained, and the bass is serviceable for the previously mentioned below adequate guitar parts. "The World I Used to Know" is probably the best song from the album, and the whole album is mixed very well. Let's hope for a stepped up sound next time around.

This new direction is bland, boring and misguided. WCAR had much growing to do, but I thought it could come from a heavier sound not....this. It makes TRACING BACK ROOTS a misunderstood gem (obviously not), I'd rather listen to that weak album rather than this.

We Came As Romans almost completely abandons the sound they had on their first two albums (and 3rd to an extent) in favor of a radio friendly sound that sounds about as fresh and original as... something that is not fresh and original at all. Savior of the Weak? Worst song they've ever written and one of the worst songs in general that I've ever heard.

This is not too bad. Regenerate is a decent track and The World I used To Know in my opinion, is the best song they ever made. But other than those 2 tracks the whole album is just flat out mediocre and I don't even mind the alternative rock shift, they just didn't execute it properly. I want to say that this album is a stepping stone but this is their 4th album and none of their albums have shown potential except their debut album, so I won't give this band the benefit of the doubt of giving us a good album in the future.

I feel like I was the only one who actually enjoyed this album. Sure it's far from the most interesting thing in the world but I actually think this simpler style of music suits the band a lot better, and they can only improve with that style from here provided they set their minds to it.

With Dave (the screamer) showcasing his ability to sing in the last album I had hopes this band would improve. i believe the lead guitarist is the sole songwriter here and he sucks. This new sound is watered down radio rock at its best. The ronly talent here is Dave but he can't save this band. If this band were to get better GET RID OF THE ANNOYING AUTOTUNED CLEAN VOCALIST, he can't sing live and his bits in this album are terrible, please get ridnof him

I didn't want to like this album at first because it is so different from To Plant A Seed. That album blew me away at
the time and I have proceeded to compare each of their albums to that one. In that way, this album has become
exactly what I needed to hear at this point in my life. The lyrics are spot on with where I am in my journey and I
am thankful this album is here. That said, it is rather generic at times. Not always their most creative work
instrumentally but lyrically it is perfect. These are really some of the most honest words I've ever heard come
from a rock band. And because of that, everything else not being perfect has kind of fallen into place. There is
one piece of their music that I miss greatly. Their breakdowns!!! Man they used to get me with some of their
breakdowns. But they have grown out of that (maybe) and if it isn't their fault then they better get some amazing
breakdowns on their next album. Otherwise, naturally I would give it 4 out of 5 stars, but gave it 5 to try to help
even out some of these uneducated ratings.
