One of the finest offerings of Overkills extensive discography and the one that i considered the best until ironbound came out, elimination in particularly sticks out as one of those thrash songs that every metalhead should listen to. The guitar work on this release is some of the best in the genre, the drumming chaotic and Bobby Blitz sounds completely possessed on some of these songs with that signature nasally, high pitched voice of his.
Great album that came along as a evolution success of the band. Thrash became technique and newbies became professional musicians, but preserving all the energy before the flame burned out and other generations came deciding they didnīt like the inheritance (as usual).
The feeling that thrash metal had something to say as a serious musical style takes itīs greater steps in records like this, concise and powerful. This album holds the best of that years, and this is timeless if you are a listener without prejudices. Thanks to Overkill!!
I completely agree. Kick ass thrash album, second only to Megadeth's Rust In Peace, which is the only album I find deserving of a perfect 5. Why? Well, the riffs on here are savage, Blitz is a better singer than Mustaine, the drums are top notch, but... no thrash band can ever match the prowess of the Mustaine/Friedman dual guitar assault.
Superb album. For a thrash album there's enough variety, like the doomish "Playing With Spiders/Skullkursher" and the ballad "The Years of Decay". Together with Metallica's "Ride The Lightning" the best thrash album ever made (in my opinion).
