This album comes as a concoction of black metal riffing savagery and isolated, icy atmospheric that makes you feel like you have been left to freeze to death in an unforgiving, unyielding cavern. It's creative and interesting, with a constant barrage of new riffs and drum patterns. Top this off with some hella cavernous and beastly growls/shouts and you have a record that is both "fun" and abrasive.

Dark af Icelandic black metal with dissonant melodies (yeah) and dark ambient interludes that break the pace a tad too much. Great, but a bit too frontloaded, as the last third kind of drags on because it doesn't bring anything new to the table.

This is good album. The riffs are fire, and the ambient interludes gave more depth to this creation. This deserves a better production, though.

Great bm that somehow feels like dm in a lot of places without ever sounding like dm. Maybe
owing to the low ended, deep guttural vox a bit. The album feels hellish in a lot of
places, and my fav tracks were the most hell-sounding ones (3, a jam which somehow gave me
strong LOTR vibes, 6). The record is well constructed, with nice ups and downs of
intensity, crystallised by a great dark ambient interlude on 4 picked right up by solid
riffage on 5, and a dark ambient album outro on 9 that wasn't as good. The run from 1-6 is
stellar, although it took me a couple tracks to get accustomed to the band, but the end of
the record 7-9 felt weaker, especially 7 which felt more generic and kind of like the Not
Unlike the Waves of this album. 8 does have a nice intro. I deleted my notes accidentally
but based on memory this feels like a 3.95

Pretty fresh take on black metal, bunch of really interesting parts. I really liked the ambient tracks a lot on here, very dark and almost otherworldly feel which is what I like in my ambient.
