Whenever I'm stranded in the middle of the darkened woods with no one except a defective automaton, I'll make good sure to play this. Godspeed might be terribly short, though you have to take into account its three tracks; besides, those immediately remind me of the potential this outfit hides within them.

Debut EP from up-and-coming noise rock musician Brendan Nixon AKA Apparitionist. The tracks presented here, particularly the title track and Application, rely on crafting an extremely bleak, tense atmosphere, with Conversion being the most straightforward of the three. While there are some moments that tend to meander a bit, these three tracks do a great job of maintaining a consistent atmosphere throughout. For fans of Slint or Unwound, Godspeed should make for a highly enjoyable listen. 3.4/5
