A great but exhaustive listen. The record doesn't stray off the template made by the first 4 tracks and is long to boot. Chris Kontos is a beast on the drums, the guitar tone is ecstasy , and the production is some of the best metal has to offer. Its a shame that the record lacks diversity.

Machine Head creates an amazing groove metal album for the their debut and it is near perfect. Pantera is definitely a major influence on this album with also a little Metallica influence on it. Occasionally the vocals could be a little too much like James Hetfield but not very many times; Machine Head still had a very original sound on this album.

I heard "Dividian" on the radio one day and bought the album the next. It's always been held in the highest regard since. The songs are some of the best metal I own.

I fricken love this album. It's my favorite debut album ever. Whenever you are pissed off at the world feel like screaming FUCK IT ALL! in someones face, than this (along with Vulgar Display of Power) is the album for you.
