Does this remind anyone else of Come Clarity for some reason?

I first heard Anaal Nathrakh when they released Hell Is Empty and All the Devils Are Here. It took a few listens to get into simply because it was so damn noisy. After awhile I got used to the industrial-tinged, noise-filled, black metal. Subsequent albums pushed the extremity too far for my tastes and I kind of wrote them off; Desideratum throttles back on enough of the extremity and noise to make me love the band again. It’s (almost) equal parts melodic black metal mixed with industrial noise and extreme metal — and the vocals are still just inhuman.

This is good Anaal Nathrakh but playing quite "safe" witch makes the all thing not much varied.
Desideratum, Sub Specie and Rage and Red great tracks. 2nd part of the album appealed to me much
more.

Anaal Nathrakh deliver a brutal barrage of black metal folded into industrial and grindcore packages in similar vain to Vanitas. Compared to Vanitas this is a bit of a let down as the tracks really do all sound very comparable to each other and AN relies on bass drops, glitchy sounds and chug chug low-tuned rhythms constantly throughout this one. Vanitas contained a few more epic buildups and beyond memorable choruses that are mostly lost here. A crisp, accessible and tight blend of sounds and 100% Anaal Nathrakh but not something I will revisit that often when the previous effort incorporates identical elements with superior songwriting.

Way too tame for AN standards. Production is too clean, vocals are not nearly loud as they deserve to be. I get the feeling this is AN's attempt to break out into the larger metal circles, for reasons unbeknownst to me. rIt's not bad, it's just... too soft. Compared to their earlier stuff, at least; on a large scale, this is as furious as metal gets.

Anaal Nathrakh have a very unique sound. It's a decent sound, but is somewhat difficult to get fully into.

In a weird sorta way, you're right ThyCrossAwaits. That's probably one of the reasons why I'm digging this album so much. I absolutely love Come Clarity.
