Not quite as bad as people are making out, but that doesn't change the fact that this album-and band-are over-hyped. Half of the songs are little better than a sub-par Emmure/Slipknot crossover style yet the other half are somewhat experimental and, dare I say it, unique. The dark-tinged "Take it" and "Devil don't Cry" largely eclipse the monotony of songs like "Best Nite of my Life", and closer "State of Nature" succeeds in ending the album on a relative high. A mixed album which will undoubtedly divide fanbases in the near future, but which is also sort of career-defining.

I don't hate King 810 nearly as much as almost
everyone else does. (Maybe it's because I became
more forgiving to nu-metal bands and recent nu-
metalcore releases.)
While this album could be better, but it's not
godawful. (At least for me.)
If you don't expect something revolutionary from
this album, then you'll probably enjoy this album.
If you are, then you can take 1.5 or more from my
score.

Everyone in King 8:10 is a passable instrumentalist and can come together to write catchy, simple breakdowns which take the place of hooks, for better or worse, but an album of this sound just isn't feasible. "Take It" is probably the most notable song here, purely because it's so different, but it falls flat without context. "Memoirs of a Murderer" at least puts a bottom on the nu-metalcore barrel - it really can't get worse than this.

Memoirs of a Murderer gives the term 'copycat' a whole new meaning. There was no originality nor thought put into this album, and King 810 were more comfortable with having the bastard child of Frankie Palmeri and Corey Taylor run the entirety of the boring show. Calling the record a godawful hybrid of metalcore and nu metal is a bit of an understatement, because these guys have no identity of their own.
