You need to see the difference between this band and Killswitch Engage (drop the d its engage not engaged) and i think someone else needs to do a review on this album or maybe do a review on the spirals/novella of uriel re-release. I know it is the same singer as Killswitch but look through that.

It's nothing groundbreaking these days, but back in the late 90s / early 00s BHBS' combination of traditional, Botch / Coalesce - influenced mathcore and grimy off time grooves reminiscent of Meshuggah was positively cathartic. You still really can't do much better if you want grimy, sickening groove-laden mathcore.

If only the rest of the music was as diverse as lead vocalist Howard Jones' impressively talented range. Listeners can expect fourteen songs - all dealing with relationships - of genericore that will make your brain go numb from harsh repetition, and that's really about it. There's very few ways to write a metalcore love song, and Blood Has Been Shed really only seem interested in making the same song over and over again on Spirals.

I was initially going to rate this lower, but then I realized how heavy and original it is compared to Killswitch Engage. Any fan of heavy music should check this out, I was pleasantly surprised. It may not blow you away, but is a nice addition to someone's music collection
