Blackened Death/Sludge metal about slugs from outer space, with song titles like "Dark Side of the Shroom", "The Sound of Mucus", and "Salters of Madness".. what's not to love??

Even though it's lyrical subject matter reaches levels of absurdity yet to be matched by anything so far to be released rthis year, Slugdge's sophomore effort, Gastronomicon, sees the band further improve their signature sound of rblackened sludge metal with a murky atmosphere paired with some unbelievably infectious riffs and and stellar rinstrument performances all around. Hell, its free on Bandcamp, so theres no reason to skip these hymns of the elder rmollusks. In conclusion, Gastronomicon is incredibly weird, yet absolutely wonderful. 4.2/5
