4.5 superb | Rowan5215 STAFF | June 19th 14 | "Romantic Works, Henson's third album, sprang from a series of quiet instrumental pieces he wrote. As their numbers mounted, he decided to learn the arts of orchestration and arrangement, even though he couldn't read or write music, taking inspiration from Arvo P?rt, Philip Glass, Henryk Gorecki, Edward Elgar, Ralph Vauhan Williams and Saint-Sa?ns. The result is a collection of songs from cello, woodwind and piano, which he describes as "bedroom classical" ? since he recorded the whole thing in his bedroom ? with layers built using found objects and charity shop instruments." Didn't see this coming, but Keaton doesn't seem to want to remain in one place and that's an admirable sentiment, even if this album strongly lacks his brilliant vocals and lyrics. Definitely a pleasant surprise.

4.0 excellent | Gene Gol-Jonsson CONTRIBUTOR | January 28th 22 | Bare and isolated, Keaton Hensons's collaboration with cellist Ren Ford is his most soundtrack-sounding and dramatic work yet. Veiled in some truly beautiful harmonies and melodies, the piano-cello arrangement makes for a fantastically engrossing listen.

3.5 great | zaruyache | January 22nd 16 | Sappy classical music that, while probably interchangable with any soundtrack from any sappy indie romance flick, is still pretty good in itself. Despite being pretty sappy here and there.
