20 minutes of straightforward pop punk with emo linings and a clear talent for writing anthemic choruses. Never Hungover Again contains all the contradiction its title implies: while you might regret that last hungover, you'll get shitfaced again, and you're kinda longing for that next party you've got planned next Saturday. It contains both melancholy and joie de vivre, and if that's not what you like in your emo-influenced pop punk, then why listen to the genre in the first place?

Joyce Manor's new record is pretty much what you would expect from them, just better. They definitely change up their style more often on this record, and though the record is pretty short at 19 minutes long, it is still a satisfying listen. The first four songs on the album are some of the best tracks Joyce Manor has ever written, along with "In The Army Now". Not one song overstays its welcome on this album, and all the ideas presented run their course with smooth quickness. Along with the personal and relatable lyrics, this record is surely one that shouldn't be overlooked this year, and is certainly a worthy addition to Joyce Manor's discography.

this album doesn't have the spark the self titled did, the last album had a little bit, but now it's just mediocre music. the singles are great, even though "catalina fight song" could have been 2 minutes longer.
