Are you freakin' kidding me ANOTHER ALBUM? Seriously how can anyone, ANYONE, like this crap. How can this band even wake up every day knowing they are responsible for the worst kind of "music" ever created. I'm so pissed right now. Chelsea Gin or wathever the f*** you're called if you are reading this please STOP MAKING MUSIC. I don't like your breakdowns (which are 85% of the entire album), your drummer is s***, your guitarrists are even worse, the bass, I don't even know if there's bass and I could go on and on and on because I've never been so pissed since I joined this site. I want this band to disappear from the face of the earth along every other s***core band alive.

Plenty of 'chuggachugga', but its far better 'chuggachugga' than before. The lyrics are pretty
terrible and the vocals can be a bit obnoxious, but this is the first Chelsea Grin album that's
actually a reasonably enjoyable experience to listen to.

Maybe I am overrating and maybe i'm obsessed. But, when I heard these guys back in the day when they only have an ep I knew they had potential. His voice has improved alot more from their last album and got nothing but more heavier and catchy. I love these guys. This album is amazing.

I think that at least some improvement was seen in Chelsea Grin when ex-Born Of Osiris guitarist Jason Richardson joined them on their 2012 EP, Evolve. How much, though, would he help them on this album? Not that much as it turns out. The formula for this album seems to be to play the painfully generic deathcore they're known for, but then adding a piano interlude in the song, or an acoustic part in the beginning. The guitar work is the same chugging, but maybe with a sweep or a melodic break every coupleminutes, lasting about 3-10 seconds each. This continues for an hour. There are more shouted vocals on this record, and less of the screeches Koehler employs, and they generally sound acceptable. The album does however have a bright spot in the form of the last four songs, which show some genuine improvement, and are likely the best songs Chelsea Grin have written. However, this improvement is diluted by the first eleven songs and their unimaginative, long-winded feel. Overall, a step down, but the last four songs on the record give a little hope for the future.

I know that a lot of people hate Chelsea Grin, because I never liked this band either. So when Ashes To Ashes came out, I was about to bash this album. Instead, I enjoyed it. Alex improved his vocals and songwriting, and the rest of the band did good job. Not great, but good. So far, this is the best Chelsea Grin album to date.
