From a music standpoint, I found Everyday to be less technical than previous releases and this is probably what made this album so easy and straightforward to listen to. From a lyrics perspective, Everyday contains a lot of sentiment but not in the average ballad-style way. Recommendations: 'The Space Between', 'What You Are', 'So Right', 'Mother Father'.

I, along with many other Dave Matthews Band fans, have a pretty big bone to pick with this album. After recording what was arguably his best album, Before These Crowded Streets, Dave went on to record what is now known as the Lillywhite Sessions. However, one thing led to another and he ended up scrapping the whole project. Bad fucking move. The Lillywhite Sessions were great and could have gone up along his other trophy albums and lead to a career in which i would still heavily respect him but instead, he released this thing, Everyday. Now, for any other mediocre jam rock band this would be a pretty damn good album, but this is Dave Matthews and this thing just does not cut it. There are no jams and its all electric guitar and no Tim Reynolds. Its Dave Matthews locked inside a cage of conformity.
