Would have given it a 2 tbh but I still have faith in Glass Cloud to not turn into a chugfest band, they've simply got too much talent, The Royal Thousand shows that. It's just an angry EP, nothing more. Wait for another full length to form an opinion on where this band is heading.

this has aged quite well for me. they were definitely ahead of their time nailing the kind of sound they were going for. also incredibly fun to see live

I don't believe this EP is awful, it's pretty decent imo. Though, it doesn't come close to The Royal Thousand, I just think this is meant to be an angry, hard hitting EP, and nothing more. Nothing to techinical, but aggresive.

The sheer awfulness of this EP is overhyped (a common thing in music nowadays), but the release is indeed weak in comparison to The Royal Thousand. There is far too much pandering to the young and violent crowd. Standout: "How to Survive Suicide"

While a handful of the riffs/breakdowns hit hard and are somewhat catchy, there's not much versatility amoung the songs. "Trapped Like Rats" and "I Dug a Grave" sound almost similar both vocally and instrumentally and "How to Survive Suicide" introduction is practically the same as the intro track. Despite that, the rest of that prior song and "Lilac" are the only things I found at least enjoyable, but it's quite a monotonous record in general.

This EP is just a fucking chug fest. Although their full length had heavy chug sections it was nothing like this awful EP!!!! Where are the melodic sections, and the interesting song structures.... Chugga!! Chugga!! Chugga!! Chugga!! Chugga!!

This album is an absolute snoozefest, it's filled to the brim with breakdowns and syncopated 9 string chug bits. Perfect War Forever takes everything melodic and interesting from The Royal Thousand and swaps it for a buttload of binarycore. Also, the production is pretty bad here, with the guitars being way too muddy and unclear in the mix. There are a couple good moments scattered across the EP ("Lilac" is a highlight) and some head-bobbing parts that wouldn't be out of place on a Danza album, but overall you're probably not going to remember much after listening to this.
