Wildly entertaining, this soundtrack for the film of the same name, but the band of virtually the same name is a definite must have for a fan of the movie. This brings back a comedic approach to a rock-opera themed movie, and it was done perfectly. This really shows off the serious skills these two have despite being weaved throughout crude comedic lyrics. Albums with this kind of balance are pretty rare finds, I recommend watching this movie and getting this soundtrack.

This album makes sense as long as you've seen the movie. Otherwise it delivers you a little bit Rock, a little bit Metal and a little bit Punk with somehow funny lyrics.

(12/6/17): The musical duo Tenacious D's main priority through my eyes has always been humor, with a straight heavy metal-meets-rock flavor added to the subject. Even for those who haven't seen the groovy film in itself, The Pick of Destiny is still adept at warranting a couple laughs, offering juicy musicianship, and above all else serving as a love letter to the classic outfits Jables and Kage grew up on.

Fun, humorous Hard Rock that is easily accessible, but also quite inconsistent quality-wise and humor-wise. Still, "Master Exploder", "Car Chase City", and "Beezleboss (The Final Showdown)" are all epically metal and riveting, combining Jack Black's over-the-top metal delivery with the sheerly rock n'roll guitars to near perfection. Most of the songs are filler, but what works here absolutely works.

Though this effort concentrates more on the music than the humorous skits, it still produces some funny songs, as well as a few technically satisfying songs. Still though, it doesn't accomplish its primary task (humor) quite as well as its predecessor.

This album will only be funny with the movie's visuals. The guitarwork is excellent on this album (especially in 'Beelzeboss' and 'The Metal'). Better than the first, in my opinion, though not as funny. But hey, this is shorter, easy to understand, and there are some f**kin' tasty riffs.
